Name: Jason "Jay" Pike
Age/Birthdate: 37/ November 12, 1971
Sexuality: Straight, but there was that one time in college, and then there was all those other times.... so bisexual-ish leaning towards straight
Occupation: Attorney
Location: New York City
Played-By: Ben Browder/ http://www.djmick.co.uk/celebritygallery/10/benbro/p%20(8).jpg
Fairytale: Lancelot du Lac/La Morte d'Arthur
Age of Realization: 19
Ability, if any: None
Defining Character Traits: Lancelot has a certain fame for his loyalty to his allies (aside for when it comes to in romantic situations), trustworthiness (again, aside for romantically), and somewhat great charisma, and as such Jason is known for being an excellent attorney, as well as very popular with the opposite sex (and a certain segment of the same sex)
Status: Jason isn't openly a Tale, because who would really believe him if he were to say he was one of literature's most well-known examples of knighthood?
History:
Jason "Jay" Pike had a life very much like everyone else's life once. Parents who love each other, a dog, time spent with grandparents, things of the sort. That, however, all came to an end one fine summer's day shortly after his nineteenth birthday, for you see that was the day he was awakened to the fact he was once one of literature's most shining examples of chivalry and romance. This came as just a bit of a shock to him, as up until that point he really hadn't had too very much luck in the romance department.
Well, now with all the memories of his knighthood, service to Arthur and his romance of Guinevere, Jay's self-confidence and charisma went through the roof.
From that point on, Jason's life was markedly different. Excelling in school as well as in the social politics of college, the formerly shy boy from the Midwest suddenly became a big man on campus, known by all, loved by many, and hated by a goodly number as well. Jay dated quite a number of women during that period, whether they was single or not, leading to more than a few rather tense confrontations with angry boyfriends. Luckily for Jason, he was able to talk his way out of most confrontations, but those he couldn't he had the capability to defend himself thanks to his knightly training all those centuries before.
After somehow making it through his college years, Jay came to realize that there were only two possible career paths where he could use his people skills and natural charisma: politics or law. Deciding that he still wasn't truly much of a leader, Jason decided (perhaps wisely) that becoming an attorney was the way to go, and so he did. Sadly, Jason still hadn't learned his lesson and seduced (whether willingly or unwillingly) his best friend's girlfriend. This was probably about the worst thing he could have done, as his friend was psychologically unstable at best and downright sociopathic at worst.
Jay still doesn't remember the exact events of that night, as he spent most of it in a dazed, semi-conscious state, but what he does remember was enough to teach him the value of not messing around with other peoples' relationships. It's a lesson he has a physical reminder of as well, as that was the night he was drugged and left in a building set ablaze by his best friend, who was also an insanely jealous boyfriend.
Luckily for him, some of his neighbors called the fire department and was able to be rescued with only second-degree burns on his forearms. Sadly, the girlfriend wasn't so lucky, having been at the center of the area that had been set alight.
This changed his views on a lot of things, and lead him to feeling that the best way to receive redemption for his sins was to take his legal studies and turn them towards being a defender of those who cannot defend themselves, of getting justice for the wronged, and of doing what is right, as he knew he had within him from those many, many centuries ago. He was now dedicated to becoming a prosecutor. Pushing his way through school with a fervor henceforth only reserved for bedding his conquests, Jason graduated near the top of his class and was immediately picked up by the New York District Attorney's office as a new hotshot attorney, which is what he's been doing ever since.
Personality: Jason has found that being Lancelot has given him quite a boost to his self-confidence and his charisma. While he mourns the passing of other Tales, he has to admit that he isn't sure whether he truly feels that their fading is a wholly bad thing, since his Tale is still somewhat strong and he feels that it's only a matter of time until further Tales will come into being and bring with them a population explosion.
Potential Interaction: Any Arthurian characters, particularly Galahad, Arthur, Gawain and Guinevere.
